Birdwatching in Assagao, Goa, India in March 2011

I don’t know about you, but I like my Sunbirds.

Purple Sunbird (male)

As far as lifers go, there were a couple:

The male Koel.

The female Koel. That makes it Mr. & Mrs. Koel.

I never bothered about the Spotted Dove whilst they’d showed up on a couple of the BNHS outings. They’re actually quite nice.

Asian Yellow Oriole.

Four lifers in two days. And this after a good seven odd days of birdwatching at Harmony Villa, Assagao, Goa, India in the past. Not bad. It is time to acquire a better lens though. Some others showed up:

Jungle Myna.

Red Whiskered Bulbul.

Jungle Babbler.

Ashy Prinia.

Remember this bugger from a year and a half ago? It is the Tickell’s Blue Flycatcher.

  1. What a lovely display of your photographs taken here at Harmony. I do hope that you enjoyed your stay here and the rest of the time in Goa. Do come again, it surely is a little oasis in the forest for the birds here at Harmony Villa in Assagao. We enjoyed having you here for a while. Please do come again either when I am here or maybe out of season in the rainy season when I am sure that you will find even more diverse bird life here.
